Missing My Favorite Telugu Cartoons

As a child, I used to enjoy watching shows like Takeshi’s Castle, even though I didn’t have any knowledge of the language. I found it amusing to see the participants fail in those shows. However, as I started my kindergarten, I developed a liking for shows like Tom and Jerry and Ben 10, which has become my all-time favorite show until now. During that time, I used to watch many cartoons, and they became my favorites. On Cartoon Network, I loved watching the Ben 10 series and movies, Dragon Tales, Tom and Jerry, and some movies like Bal Ganesh, Bhooth and Friends, Oh My Friend Ganesha, Omkar, and many more. On Pogo, I enjoyed watching Mad, Takeshi’s Castle, and Chhota Bheem. On Disney/Hungama, I loved watching Doraemon, Shin Chan, Kiteretsu, and Ninja Hattori. And on Kushi TV, I enjoyed watching Heidi, Jackie Chan, Spider-Man, and some Marvel movies. I watched these shows for many years, but unfortunately, some shows got canceled, and at some point, I didn’t feel like watching these cartoons anymore. But now, I miss them, and it’s sad to see that they are not available anymore. Although I can find some of these shows on channels and websites, I can’t find them in my native language. I tried to watch them, but because of the change in language and voice, I didn’t enjoy them as much. I miss watching them in Telugu, and sometimes I feel like if someone sold those cartoon shows with Telugu audio, I would even be ready to pay a couple of hundred euros.

Mobile Games, Consoles, and the Joy of Playing with Friends

I still remember the thrill of playing Snake on my mom’s Nokia phone as a child. Keypad games like Bounce, Snake Survival, and Racing kept me entertained for hours. As touch mobile phones took over, I graduated to playing games like Hill Climb Racing, Temple Run, Subway Surfers, and Dr. Driving. However, I eventually grew bored of these games and moved on to playing PC games like the GTA and Vcop series. One of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I had was playing on gaming consoles that came with 9999 games. I particularly loved playing team games with friends during this time. However, even after buying a PS3 and playing games like Tekken, WWE, and Ben 10, I still felt like something was missing. It wasn’t until 2018 when PUBG was introduced that I finally found what I was looking for. At first, I was hesitant to try it, but watching my brother play during a visit to my grandparents’ house convinced me to give it a shot. I loved the voice chat and squad compatibility features that made playing with friends even more fun. Although the game was later banned in India, it left a lasting impression on me. Fast forward four years to 2022, and I was in need of something refreshing after work. That’s when I discovered Call of Duty and found it even more enjoyable than PUBG. Initially playing with just one friend, we eventually formed a team and started gaming together every day. Playing these games with friends gave me the conversations and camaraderie I had been missing in my gaming experiences. The joy of playing with friends, whether it’s mobile games or console games, it’s the sense of community that makes gaming truly enjoyable.

Ken Crest International School: A Place That Holds My Heart

It was in sixth grade when I first heard about KCIS from a friend. I had heard many good things about the school, but I never thought I would go there. Many factors stopped me, such as the 38-kilometer distance from my home and the early morning start time . Time flew by so quickly, and before I knew it, two years had passed. The bus would come to my home promptly at 7:30 am, and I would join my bus mates , engaging in fun activities and games while en route to school. We were not allowed to use phones, but that didn’t matter because we had so much fun without them. Most of us would sleep during the journey as we had to wake up early to make it to school on time. Upon our arrival at the school, we would gather in the indoor stadium for morning prayer, where a class would present on a particular topic or organize something enjoyable. Classes began at 9:00 am, and my favorite teacher, Bob Pears, was my class teacher and social studies instructor. He made learning social studies and current affairs fascinating and engaging. During lunchtime, we had an hour to eat and relax. Although we had a lunch area in school, my friends and I preferred to eat in class, leaving us with approximately 40 minutes to play. We played games such as pen-fight, dumb charades, and outdoor games such as hit and run, run chase, and hide and seek. We were free birds, enjoying ourselves without any restrictions. Afternoon sessions were filled with fun activities such as dance classes, computer classes, movie afternoons, arts and crafts, science labs, and design labs. These labs were enjoyable to participate in because they did not require traditional study methods. From 3-4:00 pm, we were free to engage in sports like lawn tennis and football. At 4:00 pm, we boarded our bus, and the hour-long journey back home was just as enjoyable. In the computer lab, we did a lot of fun things, including playing GTA Vice City illegally. The school organized events based on the day, such as Apj Abdul Khalm’s birthday, where we participated in fun contests. In preparation for these events, we were given a day off beforehand. I was so connected to the school that I never thought I would ever leave KCIS. My friend circle made my KCIS experience more enjoyable. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it in the same way without them. Exam season was fun, unlike any other school in India. I had two years of unforgettable memories, and I miss the school and the lovely people there. I’m fortunate to still be in touch with them. Unfortunately, KCIS is no more due to the sudden demise of the school chairman and conflicts between partners. The school closed and was sold after my eighth grade, and this led me to have a horrible experience during my ninth and tenth grade education.

From Fun and Creativity to Stress and Pressure: My Transition to a High-Performing School in the 9th Grade

When I changed schools in the 9th grade, I had no idea what was coming up for me. Up until that point, I had always attended schools that prioritized fun and creativity over academic achievement. But my new school was different – with a track record for getting high grades, it was clear that success was the top priority. To gain admission to the school, I had to take an entrance exam. Unfortunately, my results were 15/20 which looks goid for , but the principal suggested that I repeat the 8th grade instead of moving on to the 9th. My parents were not thrilled with this idea, so the principal agreed to let me enter 9th grade with the condition that I attend extra study hours to catch up. My first day at the new school was stressful . I arrived late after attending a wedding the night before, and was warned by the principal for being late. Despite the rocky start, I quickly made friends with a fellow student who sat next to me in class. The 9th grade was stressful, but manageable. However, things took a turn for the worse when summer arrived. The school organized special classes for 10th grade during the summer break, leaving me with little time for anything else. Our schedule was grueling, with 12 hours of study every day, and additional assignments and notes to complete. Although I enjoyed spending time with my new friends, the pressure to perform academically weighed heavily on me. I made some mistakes in my study habits, which ultimately prevented me from achieving the grades I wanted. Looking back, I have mixed feelings about my experience in 10th grade. While the school provided a strong academic foundation and allowed me to make lifelong friends, the high-pressure environment was not for my personal growth and development.

Delayed Dreams: My First International Flight Experience

As a travel enthusiast, I always dreamed of flying in a comfortable airplane with a screen and a 3 X 3 seating layout. However, domestic flights in India usually offer cramped spaces and subpar air experience. Therefore, I was thrilled when I finally got the chance to embark on my first international flight from India to Finland with Air India. Our route involved multiple stops, with flights from Hyderabad to Delhi, Delhi to Sweden, and Sweden to Helsinki. Although it was a more expensive option, we chose this airline for the generous check-in and cabin baggage allowances of 60 kg and 10 kg, respectively, which was significantly higher than other airlines flying to Finland from India. We had a lot of memorable and useful items to carry, so my family and I ended up bringing a lot of luggage, requiring three cars to transport it all to the airport. The airport was located three hours from our home, so we had to factor in additional travel time and arrived at the airport three hours before our scheduled boarding time to avoid the massive crowds during the luggage drop-off. Surprisingly, the luggage drop-off was smoother and quicker than expected, and we had three hours to spare before our flight. We spent our time eating and lounging by the gate until we heard the announcement that our flight was delayed by two hours. I wasn’t looking forward to the flight as I had already flown multiple times on this route, but to my surprise, even the domestic leg of the journey was a pleasant experience. We were supposed to have a five-hour layover in Delhi airport, but due to the delay in Hyderabad, we only had two hours left when we arrived at the gate. To make matters worse, we received another announcement that our flight would be delayed by an additional four hours. However, I spent the six hours playing 8-ball pool and indulging in the complimentary lunch and refreshments. Finally, the time had come for my first international flight, and I was worried about flying with Air India as many people had complained about their old fleet. However, we were lucky enough to board a new aircraft, and the entertainment system was excellent, with an array of movies to choose from. The food was also delightful, and I experienced a range of emotions, from happiness and excitement to sadness, during the long flight. We landed at Arlanda Airport in Sweden, but unfortunately, there was a massive line at immigration, and we had only one hour to catch our connecting flight. Despite our efforts, we missed our flight, and we were stuck in Sweden for two days. We called Air India and argued with them for a long time to arrange another flight for us. Eventually, they provided us with a business-class hotel inside the airport, and they arranged for us to take another flight the next evening. Although the delay meant our trip was only a short two-day stay in Sweden, we had a fantastic time and enjoyed interacting with the locals. We flew to Helsinki, and our three-day journey came to an end. The trip was unforgettable in every way, and I had an amazing experience flying with Air India. Although we faced a few challenges.

Why I Couldn’t Wait to Turn 18: A Look at the Perks of Adulthood

As a child, I used to dream about turning 18, thinking that it would be the ultimate liberation from school and parental control. However, the real urge to become 18 came at the age of 13, when I started to learn riding a bike. Even though I mastered it by then, I couldn’t legally drive or obtain a license until I turned 18, which made me anticipate that day even more eagerly. As the years went by, I had many other wishes and dreams that could only be fulfilled after turning 18. I longed to vote in elections, get a debit card, and own a mobile phone with a sim card. I also became interested in the stock market and wanted to create a demat account, inspired by Warren Buffet’s success story. Yet all of these were beyond my reach until I reached the magic age of 18. Finally, on my 18th birthday, I felt a sense of freedom and empowerment. I answered phone calls, messages, and downloaded apps like Nordnet and Binance to invest in stocks and cryptocurrencies. I enrolled in a driving school and applied for bonus cards to avail of discounts on shopping. It was a thrilling experience to do all the things that I couldn’t do before due to age restrictions. However, as time went on, I realized that turning 18 was not a magical solution to all my problems. I still don’t have my driving license, and I missed the opportunity to vote in the last election. My ambition to become a billionaire by investing in the stock market like Warren Buffet also faded away. I learned that being 18 doesn’t automatically make everything better or easier, and that financial independence is a crucial factor in feeling truly empowered. Turning 18 can be a milestone that brings a sense of excitement and newfound freedom. However, it’s important to realize that age is just a number, and true empowerment comes from taking charge of your life and pursuing your dreams, regardless of your age.

From High School to Hamk: A New Chapter in My Life

Making a major life decision is never easy, especially when it involves interrupting your studies and moving to a new country. That’s exactly what I did when we decided to come to Finland during the middle of my studies. At the time, I wasn’t happy with what I was studying and I felt like I needed a change. Looking back, I can confidently say that it was the right decision for me. When I arrived in Finland, I found myself without any clear direction. The COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing, and everything felt uncertain. After six months of being home and not studying, I decided to take an immigration training course to learn Finnish. Although it didn’t go as well as I had hoped, I was happy to receive some financial support for my efforts. Six more months went by, and I realized that I was ready to take the next step in my education. Unfortunately, I missed the application deadline for many of the universities and universities of applied sciences in the metropolitan area. However, after some searching, I found a program that was still accepting applications. I researched the learning outcomes and decided that it was a good fit for me. Applying to the program was nail-biting. I had been out of school for a year and was worried about how I would do on the admission test and interview. To my relief, I passed both and received an offer to study at the Häme University of Applied Sciences. I was thrilled to accept it, and my family was extremely happy. Now, with three months to go before the start of my studies, I am excited and a little nervous. I’m grateful for the opportunity to pursue a degree that I’m passionate about and eager to see what the future holds. Although the journey to get here wasn’t easy, I know that it was worth it.

Two Years Later: My Journey to India During Winter Vacation

It had been two long years since my family and I had visited India, so we were determined to go during winter vacation in December 2021. My mother and brother had already purchased their tickets on Finnair, which was lucky for them since the flight time was only nine hours. However, when I tried to buy a ticket for the same date, all that was available was a business class ticket. Not wanting to spend the price of four economy tickets on a single business class ticket, I looked for alternatives and found that Flydubai was offering cheap flights on the same day. Despite a 20-hour layover, I was eager to go to India, so I decided to take the cheaper flight. On the day of my flight, I arrived at the airport only to find that my flight was delayed by four hours. With nothing to do at the boring Helsinki Airport, I passed the time by watching some movies from my watchlist. When boarding finally began, the lady at the gate pulled me aside and informed me that there was a problem generating my boarding pass for the second flight from Dubai to Hyderabad. She assured me that I could get it in Dubai, so I went onboard. Unfortunately, the flight was terrible and reminded me of the budget airline Indigo. To pass the time, I decided to buy a flight entertainment pack for 35€, but it only lasted for six hours and didn’t include internet. When I tried to browse movies, I found that none of them were watchable, and the food was terrible as always. Exhausted, I listened to music and fell asleep until the air hostess woke me up, announcing that we were landing in Dubai. As we landed, I was happy to see the Dubai Frame and Burj Khalifa from my window. Afterward, we took a bus to the terminal from the parking lot, which took an hour and a half. Then, the real countdown began: I had 16 hours left until my next flight, and I was already tired and hungry. I decided to use my priority pass to access the lounge, where I enjoyed everything except the fact that I had to wear a mask while not eating. Unfortunately, the shower facilities were closed due to Covid restrictions. After a short nap, I explored the stores and found some good souvenirs to buy. However, I met another passenger from Finland, who started talking to me and made me even more tired with his questions. Feeling exhausted, I considered getting a hotel room, but all the cheap ones were full. The airport internet was also terrible, and I had already spent 60€ on using the internet abroad. All my downloads were watched, and I had nothing left to do. I didn’t think to buy a SIM card, but I recharged my Indian SIM card for a good internet connection. However, I couldn’t make calls through WhatsApp or Instagram, so I was limited in having fun. Later, I found a good lounge with shower and bed facilities, where I had lunch and slept for six hours. Despite this, I was still exhausted by the atmosphere of Dubai airport. It was 5 hours before my next flight, so I decided to go from terminal 3 to terminal 2. Unfortunately, it was the worst airport terminal I had ever seen – more like Hyderabad main bus station than an airport. I hated the crowds waiting near the gates, but it got even worse when I had to collect my boarding pass at terminal 2. The lady at the counter looked at me suspiciously and started checking my COVID certificate, vaccine, and travel documents. Her printer didn’t work, so she had to wait for her colleague to come and give me the pass. After that ordeal, I went to Dubai duty-free shopping to get some alcohol. However, I didn’t feel safe in the crowded area, so I went to the lounge and started watching a movie. When it was time to board my flight, I was relieved that no one sat next to me, and the entire row was empty. I bought internet access for my 3-hour flight, but it stopped working after 15 minutes. The air hostess informed me that there was a technical problem and promised to give me a voucher (which I still haven’t received). I spent the rest of the flight watching through the window, eager to land as soon as possible and go home. Finally, I landed and had to take a COVID test in the airport. I waited for 2 hours to get the results before heading home. As a bonus, my suitcase got exchanged with a similar one.

corona

Days when corona was introduced

Looking back, it’s hard to believe how different life was just a little over a year ago. In December 2019, I arrived in Finland with no idea of the events that would soon unfold. The coronavirus was a distant news story at the time, and wearing masks and using hand sanitizer were not yet part of our daily routines. But as the months passed, the virus began to spread rapidly, and by March 2020, the world had changed. I had planned a trip back to India in April, but as the country went into lockdown, I knew it would not be possible. While I was disappointed, I was also grateful that my family and I were safe during such uncertain times. As we adjusted to the new normal, my family and I found ways to enjoy our time together. Ludo King became our go-to game, and we spent hours playing with each other and with friends virtually. We also made a point to eat healthily and stay active by drinking lemon water, eating fruits, and watching movies. Initially, I was afraid of leaving my apartment, but as time went on, I became more comfortable going out, applying sanitizer frequently, and avoiding touching anything unnecessarily. Looking back, those three months of lockdown were some of the best and most memorable days I have spent in Finland. I never imagined that my family and I could spend so much time together, just having fun and enjoying each other’s company. As we continue to navigate this pandemic, I’m reminded of the importance of family, friends, and staying positive during challenging times. While things may not be the same as they were before, we can still find ways to connect with each other and make the most of every moment.

Trip to Riga – Vignesh Reddy Kandi

Trip to Riga: Exploring Latvia’s Beautiful Capital – Vignesh Reddy Kandi In January 2023, my brother and I went on a four-day trip to Riga. We decided to take the cheapest flight available, which was with Ryanair. Despite hearing mixed reviews, we booked the tickets for only €20 each. Our main goal for the trip was to have a staycation and do some fun activities. We didn’t have any specific expectations, but we were excited to explore Riga. We found a good deal on a hotel, the Park Inn by Radisson, for €200 for four nights. Our flight from Helsinki was supposed to depart at 10:50 pm, but it was delayed for two hours. We had to wait in the airport for a long time, but unfortunately, there were no open stores to keep us occupied. Despite the delay, we enjoyed flying with Ryanair. (Except horrible landing experience in Riga 💀) On our first day, we headed to the Old Town to explore. We found that the Old Town in Riga was even better than Tallinn’s Old Town. We stumbled upon an Indian restaurant and decided to try it out. The food was delicious, and the prices were half of what we would pay for the same meal in Helsinki. We visited some great places, such as the Riga Market, the National Museum of Art, and the Riga Cathedral. Had some fun activities there..And i felt there is nothing more to see in Riga so thought of taking a bus to Vilnius, Lithuania, but the travel time was too long, so we decided to not to go. We returned to Helsinki after four days of having lots of fun in Riga. Luckily, our flight back was not delayed, and we had a great trip overall and it would be best if i went there in the summer.
